SAA’s Student Commitment Form

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity..” -1 Timothy 4:12

Glory to God! You are enrolled in St. Athanasius Academy and are now a member of our learning community! Welcome!

SAA is an enrichment program that requires commitment and responsibility from its students. By participating in SAA’s program, you agree to the following understanding and commitments:

  • That SAA views education as a process of developing minds and improving hearts by providing academic instruction in the light of Orthodox Christian truth and experience.
  • I will make education a high priority in my life, including positive participation in class and fulfillment of out-of-class school activities.
  • I will maturely handle the freedoms of homeschooling and online learning, and understand that taking SAA courses is a privilege, not a right.
  • I will behave in a manner that shows respect for the academy, my instructor, my fellow students, and my parents.
  • I will take responsibility for my own learning, behavior, and success.
  • I will work to achieve and exceed my potential.
  • I will be punctual and maintain good attendance in all online classes.
  • I will adhere to the technology agreements of SAA.
  • I will cooperate in class time by contributing to discussions, even if it is not something I would normally do.
  • I will devote time outside of class to homework, studying, and reading.
  • I understand that I will be required by some classes to complete classroom projects outside of class time to help me apply classroom concepts to real-world situations.
  • I will ask for help when I need it.
  • Provide my parents/guardians with important SAA information when asked to do so.
  • I will ensure my actions in class do not undermine the environment of Christian love and unity my instructor is striving to foster.
  • I agree to uphold the standards of SAA. I understand that these standards are designed to model Orthodox Christian conduct and attitudes.
