Get Started
This class is for those who have completed the Level 1 class, and also for new students who have received at least one year of formal Voice Training.

  • Parental involvement is part of the Suzuki Method. Parent participation as facilitator and assistant is required during class.
  • Entering students should be familiar with vowel formation, clear enunciation of consonants, basics of staff reading, moveable-Do solfege, breathing and phrasing.

Level 2 introduces singing in foreign languages. Translations are provided. Children enjoy exploring the beautiful sounds and rhythms of other languages. Most of our songs will be in English, but we will have the opportunity to sample Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

Level 2 also furthers the studies we began in Level 1, including diction, phrasing, intonation, note-reading, and solfege (Do-Re-Mi’s), while introducing new topics in a gradual approach.

In order to receive maximum benefit from this Voice course, students should be co-enrolled in Music Fluency. Music Fluency includes music theory, music science (physics of sound), music history, music genres, music reading, and music writing. It is the precursor to Music Literacy.

The Voice is the instrument given to each of us by God. An encouraging introduction to singing, at an early age, helps us learn to use this gift. This class provides that nurturing environment, while also teaching the technical details needed for clear, beautiful singing in choirs and solos.
