Required Materials: A notebook or binder (or section of a large binder) dedicated to holding their assignments for this course.
Optional: Consider a Roadside Geology book for your local area.
Lab Experiments: Materials needed for labs are listed here. If your student will not be completing lab experiments at home as part of their engagement with this class, please inform the instructor before the first full week of classes so that your student’s work can be given the appropriate feedback.
Summary: In this class, students will be introduced to the formal study of science. They will gain skills in designing experiments, interpreting results, writing lab reports, and thinking through the scientific process. Topics of study include history of science, scientific inquiry, applied science and technology, geology, archaeology and paleontology, fossils, life science, energy and life, classification, and human anatomy and physiology.
This replaces the former Human Anatomy and Physiology.
