Pres. Suzanne Lichtenstein

Presbytera Suzanne holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, where she studied Music and Foreign Affairs. Post-college, she spent eleven years in the Suzuki Piano Basics training program for North American teachers, under the tutelage of master teachers from Dr. Suzuki’s Talent Education Institute of Matsumoto, Japan. She has studied performance technique and interpretation, and voice technique and pedagogy. Additionally, she studied Byzantine Chant under Dr. Jessica Suchy-Pilalis and Gabriel Cremeens, and spent many years singing Russian Orthodox and Antiochian Orthodox church music in choirs in those jurisdictions. In addition to teaching for SAAOT, Pres. Suzanne teaches private students in piano, singing, and songwriting in the Suzanne Lichtenstein Music School: Sing, Play, Compose, which operates both in-person and online. Pres. Suzanne and her husband, Fr. Mark Lichtenstein, homeschooled their four children for twenty-five years. Pres. Suzanne is experienced in online teaching, and focuses on group engagement and hands-on activities in her classes.
